Update: Active Vessel Traffic Management Program

August 17, 2021

Following the announcement from Transport Canada regarding the new system to improve marine vessel traffic flow at the Port of Vancouver and in Southern British Columbia, the Vancouver Fraser Port Authority will be engaging with stakeholders involved in marine transportation, terminal operators, cargo owners, supply chain partners, associations and other marine users starting August 30 to discuss and gather feedback and input for the development of this program.

The Vancouver Fraser Port Authority is developing a new collaborative Active Vessel Traffic Management Program with supply chain partners and local stakeholders. Once implemented, this system will be a steward in managing prioritization and sequencing of ships to improve transparency, efficiency, and reliability for all port users, while increasing throughput for trade-enabling ships through the Port of Vancouver.
