The Port of Vancouver trades approximately $305 billion in goods with more than 170 trading economies. The Vancouver Fraser Port Authority, like all Canada Port Authorities, is financially independent, receiving revenues from terminal and tenant leases as well as harbour dues and other fees charged to shipping companies that call at the port. We are not financed with tax dollars and all profits are reinvested into port infrastructure and other improvements. We pay an annual stipend to the federal government and make payments to bordering municipalities on vacant properties in lieu of the taxes those properties may otherwise have generated. Terminals and tenants are independently owned and operated, paying taxes to all levels of government.
