Statement regarding the passing of Tsawwassen First Nation Chief Ken Baird

On behalf of the Vancouver Fraser Port Authority, port authority president and CEO Robin Silvester has issued the following statement regarding the passing of Tsawwassen First Nation Chief Ken Baird:  

“I am deeply saddened to hear about the passing of Chief Ken Baird. He was a changemaker, a gracious and principled leader, and a respected partner, with whom we were privileged to collaborate for many years in our work at the Vancouver Fraser Port Authority. The knowledge and vision he shared with us over the years was inspirational—most notably as we worked together to build a renewed partnership and advance reconciliation through our historic relationship agreement with Tsawwassen First Nation. On behalf of everyone at the port authority, I would like to extend our sincere condolences and respect to Chief Baird’s family and the entire Tsawwassen First Nation community.”
