About World Maritime Day
World Maritime Day was established by the International Maritime Organization, with celebrations held internationally to recognize the importance of shipping safety, maritime security, and the marine environment. The theme for this year is “Seafarers: at the core of shipping’s future.”
Live event
This year we will be hosting a live event on the North Point of Canada Place. Join us for live music and other performances, and fun activities that can be enjoyed in a safe and distanced way.

Celebrate virtually!
Can’t attend the event in person? Join us online as we celebrate World Maritime Day at the Port of Vancouver. The port authority will be sharing a virtual tour of the Fraser River, highlighting activities and terminals on the river. The video will be release on Facebook and YouTube on Friday, October 1.
