On April 21, 2022, a project permit was issued to Hatch on behalf of Western Stevedoring to construct two new fabric covered shelters that will store primarily steel and project cargo at the Lynnterm East Gate Terminal at 15 Mountain Highway in North Vancouver, British Columbia. The project is on on federal lands managed by the Vancouver Fraser Port Authority.
The project was approved subject to 30 permit conditions that Western Stevedoring must meet to ensure the project does not result in significant adverse environmental effects.
About the project
Western Stevedoring will construct two new fabric covered shelters that will store primarily steel and project cargo at the Lynnterm Terminal. The two new shelters will be located adjacent (north and south) to the 2 existing shelters that were recently installed at the terminal as part of project permit No. 17-100 (breakbulk consolidation project). The shelters are 650 square metres and 500 square metres each and will be supported on concrete lock blocks that sit on of existing asphalt and do not require any below-grade foundations. An electrical connection for interior lighting is required.
