About the project

The proposed Project would be for the installation of a new recreational dock, located at 1020 Alderside Road, Port Moody. The proposed dock includes the following features:

  • Two aluminum pier sections with punched up porous grated decking, approximately 1.2 metres wide and 17 metres in length, supported by an existing concrete wall and two new precast concrete columns approximately 760 millimetres in diameter and placed in the intertidal area
  • One aluminum access ramp approximately 1.2 metres wide and 15 metres long that would have wheels that would ride in guides placed on the float
  • A wooden moorage float approximately 30 square metres supported in place by concrete mooring blocks and galvanized chain. The float would incorporate thurflow decking to allow for light penetration, and the float buoyancy will be encased in approximately 3 millimetres of HDPE sheeting to prevent buoyancy loss and pest damage.

The aluminum piers, ramps and wooden float would be manufactured offsite and would involve a small barge and crane for placement.
