About the project
Viterra Pacific Elevators Limited are proposing to construct a new access road for the use of emergency and maintenance vehicles, located at 1803 Stewart Street, Vancouver, BC. The works include demolition of approximately 82 square metres of existing buildings, demolition of two existing retaining walls and grading and paving of the new access road footprint which will be approximately 144 square metres. The existing chain linked fence will be modified and the entrance widened with a new rolling gate and fire access signs.
Building demolition will be accomplished using an excavator to demolish cinder block walls and roofing sections and electrical services from the building will be disconnected. Compacted fill, organic material from the removal of the retaining walls and asphalt will be used to fill the area to restore the grade. The north end of the remaining building will be painted, the building’s roof membrane will be repaired and stormwater management measures will be installed at the south end of the building.
The construction period is anticipated to run for two months with targeted completion at the end of May 2021.
