Pacific Elevators New Dust Control System and Access

Permit issued

In December 2020, a project permit was issued to Viterra Pacific, to install a new dust control filter and fan system that will replace four existing dust filters and fans currently located on the track shed roof at a new location at their terminal located at 1803 Stewart Street in Vancouver, British Columbia, on lands managed by the Vancouver Fraser Port Authority.

The project was approved subject to 39 permit conditions that Viterra Pacific must meet to ensure the project does not result in significant adverse environmental effects.

About the project

Viterra Pacific propose to install a new dust control filter and fan system that will replace four existing dust filters and fans currently located on the track shed roof at a new location at their terminal at 1803 Stewart Street in Vancouver BC. The new dust control filter and fan system will be 14.6 metres high and have a footprint of 6 square metres and will require the construction of a new stair tower and adjoining access bridge. The works are expected to take place over a two month duration, with completion anticipated towards the end of summer 2021.
