New Dock Installation at 1046 Alderside Road

Permit issued

On October 24, 2022 a project permit was issued to the upland property owner to install a new dock at 1046 Alderside Road, Port Moody, British Columbia. The project is on federal lands and waters managed by the Vancouver Fraser Port Authority.

The project was approved subject to 37 permit conditions the applicant must meet to ensure the project does not result in significant adverse environmental effects.

About the project

The dock includes the following features:

  • A 33-metre-long x 1.2-metre-wide pier supported by six (6) steel piles
  • A 16.5-metre-long x 1.2-mere-wide ramp
  • A 28 square metres floating dock supported by four (4) steel piles

The deck structure will be constructed out of aluminum with thruflow decking to allow for sufficient light penetration. Floatation for the floating dock will be provided via plastic tanks filled with foam. Piles will be installed via a vibratory or drop hammer.
