New Dock Installation at 1046 Alderside Road

In December 2021, the upland property owner submitted a project permit application to install a new dock at 1046 Alderside Road, in Port Moody, British Columbia. The project is on federal lands and waters managed by the Vancouver Fraser Port Authority.

As part of the Project and Environmental Review  for the proposed project under the Impact Assessment Act, the proposed project was posted on the Canadian Impact Assessment Registry with an opportunity for public comment between December 20, 2021 and January 18, 2022.

About the project

The proposed dock includes the following features:

  • A 33-metre-long x 1.2-metre-wide pier supported by six (6) steel piles
  • A 16.5-metre-long x 1.2-mere-wide ramp
  • A 28 square metres floating dock supported by four (4) steel piles

The deck structure will be constructed out of aluminum with thruflow decking to allow for sufficient light penetration. Flotation for the floating dock will be provided via plastic tanks filled with foam. Piles will be installed via a vibratory or drop hammer.
