Permit issued
On June 29, 2022, a project permit was issued to Pacific Coast Terminals Co. Limited to develop the Manhole 13 Storm Water Diversion project at 2300 Columbia Street, Port Moody, British Columbia on federal lands managed by the Vancouver Fraser Port Authority.
The project was approved subject to 29 permit conditions Pacific Coast Terminals Co. Limited must meet to ensure the project does not result in significant adverse environmental effects.
Construction is anticipated to be completed by October 2022.
About the project
Pacific Coast Terminals Co. Limited proposes to create a larger catchment area to capture all rainwater from the potash storage-building roof, to direct to an existing ocean outfall. The proposed work includes:
- Installation of new manholes and catch basins to re-route clean stormwater to the outfall
- Removal of existing piping and installation of additional piping and valves to maintain connection to the stormwater collection system
- Installation of approximately 260 metres of asphalt curb alongside an existing swale to prevent contaminated water from entering the swale
- Any additional related improvements
