In April 2022, this application was withdrawn by the applicant and therefore this specific application has been discontinued.

In February 2022,  Harken Towing Co. Ltd submitted project permit application to level and pave an area within their existing lease adjacent to the Pitt River at 1990 Argue St. in Port Coquitlam  British Columbia. The project is on federal lands managed by the Vancouver Fraser Port Authority.

As part of the Project and Environmental Review  for the proposed project under the Impact Assessment Act, the proposed project was posted on the Canadian Impact Assessment Registry with an opportunity for public comment between February 4 and March 5, 2022.

About the project
Harken Towing Co. Ltd is proposing to level and pave an area of approximately 787 square metres, adjacent to the Pitt River at 1990 Argue St., Port Coquitlam. The paved area is intended to provide access to Harken Towing’s berth area. The paving will include the relocation of an office building, the installation of drainage, including a sump and oil water separator, and the replacement of utilities. All construction activities will occur on land and no in-water work is proposed.
