Permit issued

On December 28, 2022 a project permit was issued to Farrell Estates Ltd. (“the Applicant”) to develop perform Dredging within the water lot fronting 23511 Dyke Road, Richmond, British Columbia on federal lands and waters managed by the Vancouver Fraser Port Authority.

The project was approved subject to 34 permit conditions the Applicant must meet to ensure the project does not result in significant adverse environmental effects.

About the project

WCMRC, on behalf of Farrell Estates Ltd., will conduct dredging of up to 600 cubic metres in the water lot fronting 23511 Dyke Road, Richmond, BC. Dredging is required to remove accumulated sediments and ensure safe navigation and operation of marine equipment (e.g., pollution response vessels, etc.). 

The Project will consist of selectively dredging high points in a 500 square metres area during the single dredge event with a maximum target dredge depth of 1.2 metres below the existing grade (to a maximum approximate -6.0 metres Chart Datum). Maintenance dredging will be completed using a marine spud derrick- or barge-mounted clamshell dredge or excavator. Dredged materials will be loaded onto barges for transport and disposal at an approved upland disposal site.
