Delta Cedar New Pile Installation

Permit issued

In March 2020, a project permit was issued to Delta Cedar Products Ltd. (the Applicant), to install a single pile in the Fraser River in the waterlot of 10104 River Road, Delta British Columbia on federal lands managed by the Vancouver Fraser Port Authority.

The project was approved subject to 33 permit conditions that Delta Cedar Products Ltd. must meet to ensure the project does not result in significant adverse environmental effects.

About the project

The Applicant proposes to install a single pile in the Fraser River in the waterlot of 10104 River Road, Delta, in response to a request from Worksafe BC. The project consists of the installation of a 0.76 metre diameter steel pipe pole to help secure a barge used for loading logs to the mill for processing. The pile will be installed using a vibratory hammer from a barge.
