Land is an extremely valuable and scarce resource in Metro Vancouver. In recent years, much of the land intended for industrial activities has been converted to other uses, such as residential and commercial. Industrial land is needed for the smooth and efficient movement of goods, providing access to stable, well-paying jobs.
“Business has long been bemoaning the lack of industrial land and the reductions in investment and employment this causes,” writes economist Roslyn Kunin. “We need to do the statistical, environmental and economic analysis before we jump to conclusions about what is the best use of our limited resources, including land.” Read more.
