Opinion: Reconnecting with our local waterways
March 22, 2018
The Vancouver Sun, March 22, 2018
In light of World Water Day, Lauren Brown Hornor of Fraser Riverkeeper, discusses the value of B.C.’s coastlines and waterways among the lives of its local residents. As protection of our water systems has become increasingly complex and multi-dimensional, Hornor emphasizes a need to restore personal connections to water. By building a movement of people who spend time on the water Hornor suggests helping local residents become “water literate.” Hornor commends the Vancouver Fraser Port Authority Fraser River Improvement Initiative as essential partners in addressing water quality issues and driving forward sustainable usage of our waterways.
