Eligible candidates sought for appointment to port authority board

The Vancouver Fraser Port Authority governance committee seeks applications in writing to the nominating committee for candidates to be considered as directors on the port authority Board of Directors.

The deadline to submit applications is 5 p.m. on Friday, March 3, 2017.

The nominating committee is seeking eligible candidates who have generally acknowledged and accepted stature within the transportation industry or the business community. They should also possess relevant knowledge and extensive experience related to the management of a business, to the operation of a port or to maritime trade.

The nominating committee is particularly interested in individuals for director positions who have experience in:

maritime business
financial risk management
major capital projects

In addition, the following skills are also considered assets:

an accounting designation
business management
experience with sustainability issues or initiatives
Aboriginal relations
government relations
