Permit under review

In March, 2020, Malcom Fraser (the Applicant), submitted a project permit application to remove remove a damaged concrete boat launch from the foreshore at 356 Sea Shell Lane, North Vancouver, British Columbia on federal lands and waters managed by the Vancouver Fraser Port Authority.

As part of the Project and Environmental Review for the proposed project under the Impact Assessment Act, the proposed project is posted on the Canadian Impact Assessment Registry here with an opportunity for public comment between March 17, 2020 to April 16, 2020.

About the project

The concrete dock is approximately 6 meters long and 2 meters wide, and the toe of the structure sits beneath the low tide mark. A small excavator will be used to break up the concrete and move it to an area above the high tide mark. No excavation below the concrete will occur as a part of this project. The concrete will be disposed of or recycled at an appropriately licensed facility.
