Installation of Eight Steel Pipe Piles – Island Tug and Barge Ltd.
Permit amendment – under review
In February 2020, the permit holder submitted an amendment to a Project Permit No. 18-184. The amendment would extend the permit (which is due to expire on May 31, 2020) to March 31, 2021 for the approved installation of eight steel pipe piles, located in Burnaby, B.C.
As part of the Project and Environmental Review for the proposed project under the Impact Assessment Act, the proposed project is posted on the Canadian Impact Assessment Registry here with an opportunity for public comment between March 3, 2020 to April 2, 2020.
About the proposed amendment:
The Permit Holder proposes to carry out physical activities related to the installation of eight steel pipe piles up until March 31, 2021. The installation has been delayed for various reasons and therefore an extension to the permit is required to complete the work. This would require an extension to the approved Installation of Eight Steel Pipe Piles project permit (PP No. 18-184), which has an expiry date of May 31, 2020.
The installation of the piles at the Permit Holders facility is for the purpose vessel moorage and vessel to vessel fuel lightering.
