29 terminals, tenants, marine operators, and cruise and shipping lines were recently celebrated and recognized for their efforts to reduce emissions and underwater noise, and conserve energy.
- Winners demonstrated environmental leadership through initiatives such as:
- Converting on-terminal fleets to electric vehicles
- Replacing terminal lights with lower-energy LEDs
- Reducing the energy intensity of their operations
- Connecting to shore power for cruise and container ships
- Using alternative fuels and technologies such as wind propulsion and batteries to power marine operations
- Installing propeller technologies that reduce underwater noise
