Darrell Mussatto appointed to Vancouver Fraser Port Authority board of directors

The board of directors of the Metro Vancouver Regional District has appointed Darrell Mussatto to the board of directors of the Vancouver Fraser Port Authority for a term of three years commencing June 1, 2020.

Mr. Mussatto served as mayor of the City of North Vancouver for 13 years from 2005 until 2018 and 12 years as a city councillor prior to that. During his tenure as mayor, he was active at the regional level serving on numerous boards and committees, and as chair of the Metro Vancouver Utilities Committee and Community Energy Association. During his long career in public service, the City of North Vancouver won several honours for its planning and environmental policies, including the Climate and Energy Award from the Community Energy Association for encouraging sustainable travel to and from schools. Mr. Mussatto was also instrumental in the reduction of both community and corporate green house gas emissions and the addition of more diverse and socially inclusive housing. Mr. Mussatto currently serves as a member of the audit council for the B.C. auditor general for local government.

The Vancouver Fraser Port Authority’s board of directors is composed of 11 members: one member appointed by the 16 municipalities; one federal appointee; one British Columbia provincial appointee; one appointee for the Prairie provinces of Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba; and, seven federal appointees recommended by port users.
