The Port of Vancouver offers three newly expanded and ISPS compliant container terminals: Centerm and Vanterm in Burrard Inlet, and Deltaport at Roberts Bank. Plans are underway to increase container-handling capacity at the Port of Vancouver to 4.0 million TEUs by 2012.
The VPA's three-pronged approach to increasing container capacity at the Port of Vancouver includes improving efficiencies and expanding at existing terminals, and building new facilities. Learn more about the Port of Vancouver's container terminal expansion plans by visiting our container terminal expansion section, listed in the related links section of this page. An array of major container shipping lines call on the Port of Vancouver on a weekly basis. The Port is committed to fast turnaround times through training and technology improvements that speed the flow of intermodal cargo information and optimize the utilization of facilities and equipment to continuously improve productivity. |
