The VPA has undertaken an extensive study program for the Deltaport Third Berth Project. The purpose of the study program was to examine the social, environmental and physical factors of the Project, and identify measures to avoid or mitigate any effects, including ongoing monitoring requirements.

Factors assessed in the study program included:

  • Social factors - socio-economic, traffic and transportation, noise, lighting, visual landscape, First Nations issues, archaeological and heritage resources
  • Environmental factors – marine environment, waterfowl and coastal seabirds, terrestrial wildlife and air quality
  • Physical factors - coastal geomorphology, geology/seismic, sediment quality and water quality

Detailed findings of the study program can be found in the Deltaport EA Application and supporting Technical Reports.
