Deltaport Third Berth Project


The Deltaport Third Berth Project will expand current container operations at the Deltaport container terminal.

The main on-site project components include:
  • a wharf to create the third berth
  • creation of land for a container storage yard
  • tug moorage area
  • ship access channel
  • terminal services and infrastructure
The main off-site project components include:
  • environmental habitat creation
  • additional rail track
  • Road improvements

PUBLIC OPEN HOUSE
VFPA hosted a public open house in Delta to provide the community with an update on the Deltaport Third Berth Project (DP3).

Federal Decision
On November 3, 2006 the Honourable Rona Ambrose, Minister of the Environment and Minister responsible for the Canadian Environmental Assessment Agency (CEAA) , announced that the proposed Deltaport Third Berth Expansion Project is unlikely to cause significant adverse environmental effects. The Minister has referred the project back to the responsible authorities, Fisheries and Oceans Canada and Environment Canada, for appropriate actions. Provincial Approval
On September 29, 2006 the Vancouver Port Authority received a provincial environmental assessment certificate for the Deltaport Third Berth Project. Please visit the B.C. Environmental Assessment Office (BCEAO) website to view the information bulletin.
