November 4, 2005 Traffic Advisory: Non-Container Truck Traffic Now Required to use Inside Lanes Only for South Shore Port Access
Vancouver, B.C. As part of the Vancouver Port Authority's commitment to container truck drivers to monitor and reduce wait times inside and outside Port access gates, effective Wednesday, November 9, 2005, the VPA will implement a container truck monitoring program to measure container truck wait times on Port roadways.
All container truck drivers will be required to swipe their Port PASS identification card in order to gain access and to exit south shore Port roadway gates. Container truck drivers will use only outside lanes of the south shore entry and exit points. All non-container truck drivers entering the Vehicle Access Control System at Clark and Commissioner Streets are required to use the inside vehicle lanes only. Please continue to swipe your Port PASS card to enter the Port roadway. You are not required to swipe your Port PASS card to exit the roadway. Please carry your Port PASS identification at all times. If you are having difficulty with your Port PASS, please use the intercom to contact the VPA Control Room, or telephone the Control Room at 604-665-9346. The VPA is committed to minimizing disruptions to your business resulting from this change in operations. Your patience is appreciated.
