Media Advisory: North Vancouver's Neptune Terminals to host Open House on proposed $93-million terminal expansion

North Vancouver, BC - Neptune Bulk Terminals (Canada) Ltd. will be hosting a public open house this Saturday, October 22, 2005 to meet with community members about the proposed $93-million expansion and upgrade of its existing potash storage facilities.

Representatives from the Vancouver Port Authority (VPA), Neptune Terminals and its major shareholder Canpotex Bulk Terminals Limited will be in attendance to provide further details and answer any questions about the project. Site tours of Neptune Terminals facilities will also be taking place.

1001 Low Level Road (south of the railway tracks)
North Vancouver, BC

Neptune Terminals has operated in North Vancouver for over 37 years shipping a variety of bulk products including coal, potash, fertilizer, agricultural products and bulk vegetable oils to markets around the world. Neptune employs over 235 employees and contributes over $15-million annually in taxes, wages and charitable support each year to the North Shore community.

The Port of Vancouver is Canada's largest and most diversified port, trading more than $43 billion in goods with more than 90 trading economies annually. Port activities generate 69,200 jobs in total with $4 billion in Gross Domestic Product and $8.9 billion in economic output.
