Notice from CN: CN Suspends Diversions from Ocean Terminals to Inland CN Terminals
As the Vancouver Container Trucking Association (VCTA) disruption has continued to cause problems on the West Coast, CN has worked hard to accommodate our shippers changing needs. In the past three weeks, CN has moved more than 24,000 feet (over 1,300 TEUs) of diverted traffic from Vancouver ocean terminals. These diversions were handled while CN's regular import volumes from Asia arriving on the West Coast are at a two-year high - all this without compromising rail service to our regular customers and import volumes.

It is paramount that CN continues to protect the capacity it has committed to its primary customer base. Therefore, at this time all diversions from ocean terminals to inland CN terminals are suspended. We will advise when we can again accept requests for diversions. Until this time, we ask that you do not send any more requests to divert traffic to CN.

CN regrets that this third-party work stoppage has gone on so long. We hope that the parties can soon reach an agreement to get the West Coast functioning smoothly again.
