June 30, 2005 Update: Facilitator Appointed to Resolve Container Truck Drivers' Dispute
Provincial Labour Minister Mike De Jong and Federal Labour Minister Joe Fontana have announced that mediator Vince Ready will act as a facilitator in the strike by container truck drivers.
Ready will begin talks immediately to discuss and resolve problems facing truck drivers. Primary issues are wages and fuel surcharges. The strike costs the provincial economy as much as 30 million dollars a day.
