VPA announces senior appointments
Vancouver: Captain Gordon Houston, President and Chief Executive Officer, Vancouver Port Authority, announced senior appointments to the Vancouver Port Authority. Captain Chris Badger has been appointed to the position of Vice-President, Operations and Jim Cox joins the VPA as Vice-President, Property and Legal Services.

Captain Badger brings years of outstanding marine experience, as well as an in-depth knowledge of port operations and related businesses. A native of England, Badger holds a Master Mariner Certificate (FG) and an ONC in Nautical Sciences from Riversdale College in Liverpool. He is a graduate of Simon Fraser Universitys Executive Management Development Program. Captain Badger moves from the position of Harbour Master to assume his new position.

Mr. Cox holds a Masters of Science (Business Administration, Urban Land Economics) and a Bachelor of Commerce (Marketing and Economics), both from UBC. His previous appointments encompass nearly nine years with BC Rail as President of BCR Properties, Vice-President of Aboriginal Relations and Vice President of Strategic Business Initiatives. Mr. Cox is a Director, ICBC Properties, Member of Real Estate Institute of BC, Member of UBCs Real Estate Academic Advisory Committee, Lecturer and Contributor in the Real Estate Division, UBC and a Member Lambda Alpha (honorary real estate society).

Captain Badger and Mr. Cox join Kevin Little, Senior Vice-President, Business Development and Tom Winkler, Senior Vice-President, Finance as members of the VPA Executive.
