September 28, 2001 Vancouver Port Authority invites public input on Lafarge application for ready-mix concrete batch plant
Vancouver: The Vancouver Port Authority (VPA) is inviting interested parties to attend a public meeting to provide input into an application by Lafarge Canada Inc. for a ready-mix concrete batch plant. Lafarge Canada Inc. submitted an application to the Vancouver Port Authority (VPA) on August 27, to construct a ready mix concrete plant on VPA property. The site is known as the former Sterling Shipyards and is located near the north foot of Victoria Drive in Vancouver.
As part of its process, VPA invites all interested parties to review the proposal and to submit comments for VPAs consideration. Independent technical advisors will also report to VPA on the issues of air quality, noise and traffic. The meeting is a further opportunity for those interested to present their views to VPA. The meeting takes place over two evenings on Tuesday, October 23 and Wednesday, October 24 at 7 p.m. Doors open at 6 p.m. for viewing project information. The meeting is being held at the PNE Boardroom, 2901 East Hastings Street in Vancouver. Enter through Gate #2 off Renfrew Street. Free parking is available.
