September 11, 2001 Port Vancouver asks cruise passengers to arrive after noon
Vancouver: The Vancouver Port Authority (VPA) is asking cruise passengers bound for Alaska to arrive no earlier than noon on the day of their departure. Ship sailings will be delayed to allow arrived passengers enough time for security to embark. The VPA is issuing this notice to correct some media reports that advised passengers to arrive earlier.
If you are expecting to pick up any cruise passengers, please expect delays as well as limited access. Please note that todays cruise departing for Alaska on the Westerdam has been cancelled by Holland America.
