Vancouver: Following the resignation of Captain Norman Stark as President & CEO of the Vancouver Port Authority (VPA), the Board of Directors immediately undertook a search for his successor.

Today, the Chairman of the Board, David Stowe, announced that in the event that a successor is not appointed by March 1, 2001, George Adams will temporarily assume the position until an appointment is made.

George Adams was appointed to the VPA Board of Directors in 1999. Mr. Adams is the former vice-president of transportation for MacMillan Bloedel Ltd. and former president of the Canadian Transport Company.
