Fundraisers
Located in a heritage home and former National Harbours Board building, the Mission to Seafarers serves as place where seafarers can relax in friendly surroundings, shop for essential items and most importantly, use the telephone or email facilities to keep in touch with their families. The Mission to Seafarers will continue to care for seafarers around the world for as long as we depend on ships and their crews to bring so much of our daily needs. The Mission operates two centres: the Waterfront Centre, near Downtown Vancouver and the Roberts Bank Centre in Delta. Each year, approximately 14,000 seafarers visit these centres. The Vancouver Maritime Museum is the principal maritime museum on the Pacific Coast of Canada interpreting the story of Canada's great Pacific port and its links with the Pacific Rim through exhibits, educational programs and special events. It is a charitable, not-for-profit educational and cultural organization operating since 1958. |
